Please click on the links below to learn more about our training offerings for Board of Health members as well as how to access and complete training on CO TRAIN.

If you have already taken I.Public Health Introduction (formerly Year 1 training) start with II. Public Health Law and Emergency Management Case Study. If you are new to your board of health member role or have not previously completed any BoH training, start with  I. Public Health Introduction.

BOH Training CO TRAIN User Guide
This user guide provides guidance for setting up your CO TRAIN account, accessing and completing the training. 

BOH Training Executive Summary

This executive summary describes the BOH trainings.

I. Public Health Introduction (formerly Year 1 training) training for Colorado Board of Health members includes a board of health orientation and training developed by CDPHE and the Colorado School of Public Health. It also includes training about the local boards of health role in preparing for, responding to, and recovering from an emergency disaster, developed and provided by CDPHE and the Office of Emergency Management.

Select Register to access the training. Once registered for the I. Public Health Orientation training you can resume your training at any time by clicking on  “Your Learning”  then “Your Training Plans.” After you complete each module, select the Back button in the upper left of the training page to be directed back to the training plan.
 

Note: You will need to finish the quizzes in each module as well as the final evaluation to complete this annual training. Once you have completed the evaluation you will receive an email from Qualtrics letting you know you have fulfilled the yearly training requirements.
 

 

II. Public Health Law and Emergency Management Case Study training includes: (1) Interviews with two executive directors and board of health members speaking candidly about their roles and relationships. (2) A public health law and authority section, with a Colorado specific context, and (3) The role of public health in emergencies using the Marshall fire as a case study.

Board of Health Office Hours

  • Wednesday October 18th 12-1

At each quarterly session, speakers will talk about different themes and ideas addressed in the training. There will be time for questions and answers and open dialogue. Come to one or all of the sessions, the discussions will be different each time.
